About Hiking in Austria
From the age of ten to seventeen, I spent every summer with my dad and sister in the Austrian Alps. The mountains became our favorite destination of the summer, the sound of cowbells echoing through the valleys, the taste of fresh milk, the long hikes, the swimming lakes and that deep sense of satisfaction after a day of walking will stick with me. But among all those summers, one memory stands out clearer than the rest — my first really long hike to the top of a mountain in the snow. The conversations along the trails, planning our routes, taking wrong turns, and learning to be patient with each other’s walking pace. This hike mas a mix of wanting to quit, frustrations and happiness. We also got caught in mountain storms, thunder sounding through the forests, flashes of lightning lighting up the path. The adrenaline was real because the force of nature is always unpredictable. Those moments shaped my memories of nature, familytime, and overall my love for the mountains started growing more and more trough the years, even now, I always feel home there and it’s my favorite place to go on holidays.
